Those of you who might hypothetically find yourselves surfing around on LimeWire searching for the latest in free, legal, P2P downloads may want to pay a bit more attention to the files you download. According to Craig Schmugar at McAfee’s Avert Labs, there’s a new trojan (Downloader-UA.h) on the loose that’s masquerading as an MP3 or MPG file. The list of infected files below was originally compiled by Schmugar, and it’s not a bad idea to check them out if you regularly search for “user-created” video. Not that any of you actually do that sort of thing, of course, but you might know someone who does. Err, did. Back in the 90s. (mais aqui e aqui)
Como me afeta: Eu não uso muito o Limewire, mas sei de muita gente que usa. Meu conselho: Podem continuar usando, mas cuidado com o que baixam. Rodem um antivirus no arquivo (cliquem nele com o botão direito e façam uma verificação) antes de rodar, mesmo de dentro do Limewire. Os arquivos infectados tendem a referenciar músicas/filmes mais raros, pois atrai mais interesse. Notem que tem um arquivo “t-3545425-lion king portugues.mpg”, o que me faz crer que o hacker é brasileiro… Não sei por que…
